Salvation

One of the biggest lies that
has been put on our generation is the lie of evolution. The
educators of today's world would have you believe that everything, including you and I, occurred by accident.
There are only two ways that this earth we live on could have come into
existence, by accident or by design. Have you ever studied the
complexity of the human body, the ecosystems, or the vastness of the
galaxies? Do you honestly
believe that this could all be by accident? Or is evolution just
another fairy tale that starts with "Once up a time long long ago...."
and then gives you a magical ingredient....Time. We are taught
that the passage of
time is the magical ingredient that allowed us, the accident, to occur.
However, if you look around our world today you will find that with time things
are not evolving, they are
deteriorating.
If
evolution is true, then there is no creator. If there is no
creator, then there is no one we are accountable to. We can all do whatever we
want (as long as we don't get caught). Then why do you feel guilty
when you've done something wrong? Why is that a part of your human
nature and conscience? Why is the first phrase out of most peoples
mouths when tragedy strikes "Oh my God?"
But what if there
IS a designer? What if we DO have someone that we are accountable
to? What is going to happen to you when you die? The Bible
says that there is a designer. "In the beginning GOD created the
heaven and the earth - (Genesis 1:1 (KJV)).
Everyone is a Sinner:
Romans 3:10
(KJV)
- As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 3:23 (KJV)
- For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Every
person on this earth is a sinner.
This includes everyone from the Pope to the President to me....and to
you. We have ALL sinned, and come short of the glory of God (our
creator).
But Sin is not without a Cost:
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
For the
wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord.
Sins
are basically laws or instructions that have been given to us that have
been either broken or not followed. Where
did the laws come from? Our designer, God. He
passed down laws and instructions to us in the Bible. He tells us
that if we don't obey those laws, then we will be accountable for it.
He offered us a way out:
John 3:16 (KJV)
For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans
5:8 (KJV)
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 8:1 (KJV) There is therefore
now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
God loves us, but he has
given us free will to decide what we will do. We have to believe
in him by faith. What is the cost to us? Nothing!
Jesus Christ, God's son, paid the debt for us. All we have
to do is trust on him.
What if I choose not to believe or to decide later?
John 3:17-18 (KJV)
For God sent not his Son into the world
to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not
condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he
hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
How much time do
we have on this earth? None of us know. If you choose not to
believe, or wait too long to decide, the scripture says that you are
condemned already.
Is there another way? How about my
good works?
Titus 3:5 (KJV)
Not by works of righteousness which we
have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of
regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
John 14:6 (KJV)
Jesus
saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is the ONLY way
to Heaven. Our righteousness will not get us there.
So how do I get saved?
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) That if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart
that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For
with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.
You must pray and
confess to Jesus that you are a sinner, ask him to forgive you, and believe
in your heart that he died for you. That's it!
Here's an example prayer. Friend, remember the words really don't matter.
They won't save you. It's the believing in your heart and the ACT of
confessing and turning your life to Jesus.
A sample prayer:
"God, be merciful to me, a sinner. I know that I have sinned. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past
sinful life to you. Please forgive me. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins, was
buried and rose again from the the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus
to enter my heart and to save me from my sins. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
Are you sure I can be saved? I've done
some bad things...
Revelation 3:20 (KJV)
Behold, I
stand at the door, and knock: if ANY MAN hear my voice,
and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he
with me.
ANY MAN can be saved. Does this mean
that all of the problems in your life will now magically go away?
No, a sinful life leaves scars, Does this mean you will be perfect? No.
You are not perfect. You will never be perfect in this life. You have a sinful
nature. But you ARE
forgiven. You are still a sinner, but now you are saved by the
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
How can I be sure I'm Saved?
1 John 5:10-12 (KJV)
He that
believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that
believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the
record that God gave of his Son. And this is
the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in
his Son. He that hath the Son
hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Do you believe that
Jesus Christ was the son of God and that he can cleanse you from your
sins? Have you confessed to him that you are a sinner? If
you said yes, then
you are saved.
Will I sin again?
Romans 7:25 (KJV)
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh
the law of sin.
I John 1:8-10
(KJV) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make
him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Yes you will sin again. Your soul is now saved, but your flesh
still has its sinful nature. In eternity you will be given a new
body which is sinless, but while you are on this earth you will have to
contend with the flesh and its law of sin. If we will confess our sins to Jesus and ask him to forgive us, he
promises to do so.
Can I
lose my Salvation?
II Timothy 1:12 (KJV)
For the which cause I also suffer
these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have
believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have
committed unto him against that day.
Ephesians 4:30 (KJV) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God,
whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption
The Lord Jesus Christ will keep YOU until the day of redemption.
You are sealed. You can not lose your salvation.
So Now what Do I Do?
Hebrews 10:25
(KJV ) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the
manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as
ye see the day approaching.
Matthew 18:20 (KJV ) For where two or three
are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

II Timothy 2:15 (KJV) Study to show thyself approved unto
God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word
of truth.

I Corinthians 1:17-18 (KJV) For Christ sent
me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words,
lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the
preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us
which are saved it is the power of God
